If we weren’t so adamant about music journalism, our next career path would probably involve working on a music video set. We appreciate the instrumentals and vocals of a track, but what we admire most is the meaning behind the lyrics of a song and a music video visually discloses just that. We tend to take a liking to a band’s sophomore album release as opposed to a group’s debut. Why do we prefer this route? Well, a band’s second album says a lot about a group. It shows how a band takes into account their debut album critiques from listeners and professionals and how the members use this information in creating their next album. A successful second album contains the musical roots of the band’s debut, but also further extends their creativity through risky endeavors.
