Universal’s remake of the monster horror classic “Creature from the Black Lagoon” has a new director. Carl Eric Rinsch is now attached to take the director’s chair. Gary Ross wrote the remake’s original script but Universal is planning to start over. The project’s previously-announced director Breck Eisner is moving on to a remake of “The Brood”. The original “Creature From The Black Lagoon” was released in 1954 and was about a scientific expedition encountering a mysterious merman-like creature that lives in the depths of the waters beneath them.
