Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on to appear in one of her first major roles since having her daughter, Charlotte Prinze, in September 2009, Vulture is reporting. CBS has greenlit a new pilot starring the former ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ actress called ‘Ringer.’ The new series is an hour-long thriller, and will star Gellar in two roles. She first plays a woman who is on the run from the mob. In order to escape from her enemies, she assumes the life of her wealthy twin sister. Actress Heather Morris is claiming that she’s being considered to portray Buffy Summers in the new ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ remake, Cinemablend.com is reporting. While Joss Whedon, the creator and showrunner of the ‘Buffy’ television series, isn’t attached to the project and doesn’t support it, the project is still moving forward with Morris possibly on board. With the news that Warner Bros. has hired Whit Anderson to write a reboot of the cult classic ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’ the writer of the original movie, Joss Whedon, is speaking out against the planned remake. In the aftermath of David Boreanaz’s admission of his infidelity, another star from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ is experiencing marital problems.  Emma Caulfield, who appeared on the hit show as the vengeance demon Anya during the show’s entire 1997-2003 run, has filed for divorce from her husband, Popeater.com reported on May 18. Caulfield cites irreconcilable differences with her husband, Cornelius Grobbelaar.  The 37-year-old actress filed the papers on May 7 in Los Angeles Superior Court.  The split comes almost four years after their wedding, which took place on August 23, 2006. While creator Joss Whedon isn’t involved and so far the project hasn’t been attached to any studio, Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment and Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, the original film’s director and her husband, are working on a remake of the original film.
