“Hobbit” fans! The first footage from “The Hobbit: Part One” has been released! The 10-minute footage (seen below) is chock-full of behind-the-scenes videos featuring stunt-work, cast introductions, set design, and more. And apparently, from what director Peter Jackson says in the beginning of the video, this footage is the first of several video blog posts. Ironically, the footage reminds me a bit like the behind-the-scenes footage shot for the “Star Wars” prequels, what with showing the making of the swords, the stunt work, Jackson looking over designs and sketches, etc. But, unlike the “Star Wars” prequels, it feels like there’s tons more love going into this film. Benedict Cumberbatch and Kelly Macdonald have been signed on to star in Joe Wright’s upcoming film “Anna Karenina”, according to CinemaBlend. “Kelly Macdonald’s confirmed, Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed,” Wright told The Playlist. “I’m still waiting on Saorise [Ronan] and James [McAvoy].” Also signed onto “Anna Karenina” is Jude Law, Aaron Johnson and Keira Knightley. I found a little something in my mailbox today, a black box. Well, actually it was a standard cardboard box in black wrapping, but I figured I’d paint the entire picture. Anyway, inside this cardboard box was a red card that reads, “Once you flip the switch, there’s no going back … Adapt or die.” Underneath is a date, “4.8.11.” April 8th, 2011 is the release date of the movie Hanna and, sure enough, the other item in the box was a silver contraption with the film’s title on it. It’s finally official! Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis will reprise their roles as Gandalf and Gollum, respectively, in The Hobbit. This news comes on the heels of Elijah Wood announcing his reprisal of Frodo Baggins as well as Cate Blanchett saying she’ll reprise her role as Galadriel.
