The Hollywood Reporter has released news that Catherine Zeta-Jones will be joining the cast of “Rock of Ages”. The character Zeta-Jones will play is an original character for the film. Director Adam Shankman described the character as “if Tipper Gore and Anita Bryant had a love child. She is this hardcore, moral majority, arch conservative who wants to shut down rock’n roll in the great city of Los Angeles.” He also said, “It’s a character that we only really came to in the last month. According to Entertainment Weekly, a representative for Catherine Zeta-Jones has told the media that the actress has checked into a mental institution to help with her struggle with Bipolar II disorder. “After dealing with the stress of last year [alluding to Zeta-Jones' husband Michael Douglas], Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder.
