Friday, November 18th, 2011

Channing Tatum hosted Constellation’s online screening of “The Eagle,” a film by Kevin Macdonald starring, aside from Tatum, Jamie Bell and Donald Sutherland. Tatum said the toughest challenge about portraying his character, Marcus Aquila, was making sure that he accurately portrayed the time period. “The toughest thing about portraying Marcus was to trying to project yourself back into that time and hope you’re always being somewhat accurate and honest,” he said. “So much time separates now from then so it’s challenging to try to make it as real as you can. especially with the language barrier.” “The Eagle” is set in Roman-controlled Britain, where Marcus Aquila works to honor the…

Haywire Movie Review

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

Title: Haywire Director: Steven Soderbergh Cast: Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Michael Fassbender, Channing Tatum, Michael Angarano, Bill Paxton Steven Soderbergh is an interesting throwback to directors of yore, in that he is far less precious with his career than many of his contemporaries, and seems to regard the medium of film as inherently a place to explore, and play around. This means not only that he’s rather astonishingly prolific, but also engages in willful genre experiments (the “Ocean’s” trilogy, certainly, as well as something like “Solaris,” and even “Contagion”), plus low-fi adventures like “Full Frontal,” “Bubble” and “The Girlfriend Experiment.” Rather than own one genre or mood,…

Red Band Trailer For 21 Jump Street Released

Friday, November 4th, 2011

After months of speculation and wondering, the red band trailer for “21 Jump Street” has finally been released! The trailer was put on the film’s official Facebookpage, and, having seen at least one episode of the original “21 Jump Street,” I think it’s fair to say that there’s a very big difference in tone from the show, which made Johnny Depp a household name. The film stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill as doofus cops who look young enough to pass for high schoolers, so they’re enrolled in an revived undercover cop unit: “In the action-comedy 21 Jump Street, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are more than ready…

Tatum is going to put his exotic dancing experience to more use nowadays; according to Deadline, Tatum will star in “Magic Mike,” a film written by Tatum’s production partner Reid Carolin and directed by Steven Soderbergh. Tatum and Carolin are also producing the film along Gregory Jacobs and Nick Wechsler. “Magic Mike” is based on Tatum’s own experiences as an exotic dancer. The film will also…

MTV caught up with director Steven Soderbergh on his latest project, the much awaited stripper chronicles of Channing Tatum – Magic Mike. Giving the music outlet an update on the Tatum’s interesting life before making it big in Hollywood, Soderbergh shared “that’s gonna be crazy; the stories are crazy.” Just what fans have been dying to hear! Revealing some additional details behind the project he was extremely excited to make, the director did clear up the fact that Tatum’s life is a huge part of the flick, but loosely based. “It’s a fictionalized version of what Channing went through. Channing’s sort of playing a version of himself and Alex is…
