Former ‘Smallville’ star Kristin Kreuk is defending herself after the show’s fans criticized her for saying she doesn’t think her character, Lana Lang, should return for the show’s upcoming series finale, www.tvline.com is reporting. Kreuk said that she doesn’t believe “there was ever a real offer for me to come back,” even though former co-stars Michael Rosenbaum and Allison Mack are reprising their roles of Lex and Chloe. Screenwriter David Goyer hinted at what the storyline for the new ‘Superman’ reboot, to be directed by Zack Snyder, may focus on, Cinemablend.com is reporting. Goyer penned a forward for the new graphic novel Superman: Secret Origin by Geoff Johns. After reflecting on one of the scenes in the book, he wrote that he’s halfway through his screenplay. While Goyer admits that he may become hindered in finishing the script, like many previous ‘Superman’ screenwriters before him, he hopes to be inspired by Johns’s Superman stories. Renowned New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison (“Once Were Warriors”, Jango Fett from the “Star Wars” prequel films) and New Zealand filmmaker/actor Taika Waititi have both joined the cast of Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Green Lantern.” Morrison has been cast as Abin Sur, the alien Green Lantern Corps member responsible for Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) joining the intergalactic courage-fueled police force. Waititi will play Hal Jordan’s close friend and confidante Tom “Pieface” Kalmaku. Warner Brothers have tapped Sony Pictures Imageworks to take the lead for the visual effects for “Green Lantern”. Peter Sarsgaard has been cast in Warner Brothers’ upcoming adaptation of DC Comics’ “Green Lantern” as the villainous Hector Hammond. Originally appearing in the pages of 1961′s “Green Lantern”, the character was created by John Broome and Gil Kane. Hammond was exposed to the radiating energies of a strange meteor, which gave him telepathic powers and also mutated his features, giving him an exaggeratedly-large head.
