Weekly Comic: The Source Code

Posted by Brian Corder On March - 6 - 2011 0 Comment

Ever since I first plugged in the Konami code on Contra for extra lives I have held it with deep reverence as an almighty code passed from the ancients. And ever since then I have always wondered what would happen if it were imputed in reverse, that which brings lives must also take them away. Please consider this a cautionary tale. Weekly Comic: Angry Birds Edition

I’ve always wondered why the pigs in Angry Birds would want eggs so badly, but I have some theories which I hope can be confirmed in the new level pack of Angry Birds: Seasons. Sunday Comic: I Am Number Three

Posted by Brian Corder On February - 20 - 2011 0 Comment

I never knew why Nintendo thought that 3 lives would be a great default life amount for Super Mario 1. When I was a kid I used to use them up in the first world alone. Anyhoo, I thought it would be a fun parody of I Am Number Four, which is the only enjoyment I’m sure to get from that series. Sunday Comic: Real Moms Hate Dead Space Too

Posted by Brian Corder On February - 8 - 2011 0 Comment

I don’t instantly despise Dead Space’s new moms hate Dead Space campaign, it could actually be hillarious if they, y’know used moms and not stereotypical replicas and missed the point their 30 year-old demographic might be over that whole “I’m going outside without a sweater” rebellious stage. My mom I know would probably hate Dead Space, mainly because there are too many cheap scares leaving you annoyed rather than frightened and the plot is an abysmal mess of space horror clichés that makes the Doom movie seem innovative. It seems I have a weak spot for this game, I find it to take every negative aspect of Resident Evil’s ammo  [ Read More ]

With the PS3 having been cracked wide open, I believe that makes every mechanical device on earth jailbroken. I look forward to playing Flash on my toaster one day. Sunday Comic: An Unfair Factor

Posted by Brian Corder On January - 16 - 2011 0 Comment

When playing Marvel Vs. Capcom I’ve always wondered why Wolverine never had his healing factor or the Hulk to increase in size the more he gets beat up. Although, I can start to imagine the downside to that, namely matches that never end since Wolverine can’t die. In a Mario world of mushroom power-ups it is a good idea to know the difference between regular and super size mushrooms before consuming them. I’ve always wondered where the ghosts came from in Pac-Man or why they had such animosity for this poor yellow ball. This is my theory of their origin. Rob Vendetti On The Surrogates

Posted by Costa Koutsoutis On September - 24 - 2008 0 Comment

Comic book writer Rob Vendetti, the mind behind the graphic novel “The Surrogates” which is being made into a major motion picture, recently sat down with MTV’s Splash Page to chat about among other things, his comic, the upcoming movie, and casting choices. Rob tells MTV that when originally writing the comic, about a future where over 90% of humanity interact with the outside world through robotic remote-controlled avatars of themselves called “surrogates”, he dreamed about a film adaptation and even fantasized about the star. He says he and wife thought that of all the actors they could think of, Bruce Willis could accurately fill the role of the film’s  [ Read More ]
