Paramount Releases Official News On Star Trek Sequel

Principal Photography On Star Trek 2 Has Begun

It’s finally started! If you’re like me and you’ve been waiting impatiently for the start of “Star Trek 2,” you’re in luck, because the principal photography has started! According to Paramount’s press release posted on latino-review.com, the principal photography began last Thursday, true to J.J. Abrams’ word. The film will be released May 17, 2013 in 3D and will see the return of the original cast members to the reboot–Chris Pine, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, and Anton Yelchin. Star Trek 2 Script Expected to be Completed Next Month

While rumors are continuously swirling about the progress of ‘Star Trek 2,’ recent reports state that the script is expected to be finalized in late December, Cinemablend.com is reporting. While writers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof are constantly picking up projects, Viacom COO Tom Dooley has confirmed that Abrams is on board to produce and the trio is putting the finishing touches on the script. Variety reports that a sequel to filmmaker J.J. Abrams’ not-yet-released Star Trek film is already in the works with writing team Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof once again writing the screenplay.
