Yogi Bear Trailer Is No Pic-A-Nic

Posted by Perri Nemiroff On July - 28 - 2010 0 Comment

As if we really need another live-action/CGI conglomeration this year, in 3D nonetheless. We already got the witless Marmaduke and now it looks like we’re in for another cheesy and low quality talking animal romp with Yogi Bear. The film’s first poster is passable; it’s the trailer that reveals that hefty dose of animated garbage we’re in for. Any fan of the original cartoon can appreciate the image. It’s Yogi and Boo Boo amidst a pile of half-eaten food and empty picnic baskets; what’s not to like? The trailer is a different story. Rather then suggest the film will genuinely be bringing the beloved characters to life, it comes across  [ Read More ]

After months of internet rumors and speculation, Bill Murray confirmed to the Daily Mail that there will be a ‘Ghostbusters 3,’ a follow-up to the successful 1989 sci-fi comedy ‘Ghostbusters 2.’ After claiming that the few scenes he was featured in during the second movie were the only funny ones and that his 1993 hit ‘Groundhog Day’ should have been awarded Oscars, he told the producers of ‘Ghostbusters’ he would only appear in the next installment if his character, Dr. Peter Venkman, was killed in the beginning and later appeared as a ghost. Ew.com reports that even Rick Moranis who played the gate keeper Louis Tully will also return to the Ghost Busters III cast. … And yes, the original cast will return: Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, and even the elusive Bill Murray. “Everybody said they’d do it,” says Ramis, who doesn’t intend to direct Ghostbusters III. “They’ll be looking at younger actors [for the lead roles], I’m sure. But we’ll be in it as mentors or advisers. I think the first one captured something that hadn’t been seen for a long time: the combination of scary movies and smart broad comedy.
