Dan Lin's Company Launching Television Division

Film producer Dan Lin is forming a television division with his company Lin Pictures through a deal with Warner Bros. Television, Deadline is reporting. Lin has signed television development executive/producer Jennifer Gwartz to run the new division, which is aiming to develop drama and comedy series. The shows are expected to include the aspirational, uplifting stories that are often included in Lin’s projects. Warner Bros. Pictures is moving forward with developing a big screen adaptation of “Spy Hunter”, the Midway Games’ video game. Dan Lin (“Sherlock Holmes”) and Roy Lee of Vertigo are producing the project. Warner Bros. and producer Dan Lin are reportedly planning to reboot the “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” film franchise that spun off from the 1996 Eidos video game franchise starring action hero and archaeologist Lara Croft, the English noblewoman who battles legendary and supernatural forces, pirates, traps and puzzles, and more, as she searches the globe for various treasures and other historical artifacts. Warner Bros Announces Return Of Tomb Raider

Warner Bros. is in early development on a “Tomb Raider” reboot, according to a report from Superhero Hype. Paramount previously made the two movies based on the game, but the rights have since reverted to game makers Eidos. When Time Warner upped its stake to 19.92% in Eidos in December, films rights to the property were included as part of the deal.
