Friday, January 8th, 2010

James Franco has signed on to star as mountaineer Aron Ralston Danny Boyle’s “127 Hours.” The film would follow the incredible true-life story of Ralston, who spent five days with his right forearm pinned under a boulder during a May 2003 climb in Utah’s Blue John Canyon. Ralston used a dull knife to amputate his own limb and scaled a sheer 65-foot wall to hike for help, before finally being rescued. Boyle will be directing “127 Hours,” with filming set to begin in March in Utah. The project has a tentative late 2010 release set. Stay tuned to Shockya.com for more on “127 Hours”. Thursday, December 4th, 2008

The horrific attack in Mumbai sent shock waves throughout India’s Bollywood film industry, a majority of it located in that city which was once known as Bombay. Many film productions shut down as well as the Bollywood.com website, saying, “No one is in the mood to return to work. Bollywood is in no mood to forgive, forget and move on.” Ironically, the attacks concluded on the day a British film, which takes place in Mumbai, won the top prize at the British Independent Film Awards. Slumdog Millionaire won for best director (Danny Boyle) and best newcomer (Dev Patel). Actor Sir Ben Kingsley, known for his Oscar-winning role as Indian leader…
