Paul Reubens has been tapped to receive this year’s Visionary Award at Spike TV’s Scream Awards. Reubens will be receiving the award for his iconic character, Pee-wee Herman. Reubens’ character was created in 1978 and was the main character of the 22-time Emmy winning show “Pee-wee’s Playhouse.” Reubens went on to make the film “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” with director Tim Burton and go on Broadway with “The Pee-wee Herman Show.” “If Pee-wee were giving this quote, I think he’d scream out ‘I’m a visionary! I’m a visionary!’ and then run to the dictionary to look up what visionary means,” said Reubens about the award. “But I know what it means,…

A few months ago, comic book fans and moviegoers were excited when Darren Aronofsky was named director of “Wolverine 2″. Would this be Aronofsky’s “The Dark Knight”? Would this be Aronofsky’s crossover to a mainstream audience? Well, no. Aronofsky dropped out of the project citing family issues that would get in the way of the production. Personally, I think Aronofsky was put off by not having final cut on the project. Vulture is reporting the director of last year’s surprise hit, “Black Swan”, will helm a fifteen-year-old screenplay called “Human Nature” written by screenwriter Jeff Welsh. It is also reported that George Clooney is soon to be attached to this…

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Black Swan” director Darren Aronofsky has decided to leave the sequel to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, “The Wolverine” . According to the site, the director felt that film production would have him out of the country for too long. In a joint statement with Fox, Aronofsky stated his point of view. “As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of ‘The Wolverine’ would keep me out of the country for over a year… I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won’t be able to see…

While director Darren Aronofsky is busy finishing pre-production on his sequel to ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ he’s reportedly also developing another movie adaptation of a comic book, Slashfilm.com is reporting. In a recent interview with Clothes on Film, Aronofsky, whose recent psychological thriller, ‘Black Swan,’ has become a critical and box-office success, admitted that he’s creating a comic book to base his next script on. If the reports are true, this will be the second time Aronofsky will have created an original graphic novel for one of his films. In 2005, he released a graphic novel for his movie ‘The Fountain,’ which was met with critical and box-office disappointment. The news…

When she accepted her Best Actress Award at the Critics’ Choice Awards in L.A., ‘Black Swan’ star Natalie Portman not only thanked director Darren Aronofsky for helming the indie hit, but for “making her fat” as well. The actress credited Aronofsky for not only guiding her in one of her best performances, but for sparking her on-set romance with her new fiance Benjamin Millepied. “You made me very skinny, and now you’re indirectly responsible for getting me fat…You introduced me to my love, (Benjamin) Millepied, who also choreographed the film,” the Oscar front-runner also said. “I am so incredible grateful for that most special of gifts.” Portman also poked fun…

Title: Black Swan Directed By: Darren Aronofsky Starring: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey, Winona Ryder, Benjamin Millepied As is said in the film, ballet isn’t for everyone and neither is Black Swan, which really should be considered an honor more than anything. The film is overwhelming in every sense of the word and could just be too much for some to handle. But, if you have what it takes to absorb this wild mixture of personalities, visuals and nightmares, the result is profound. This is easily one of the most emotionally impactful films of the year and is something that will certainly haunt you long after the…

Title: Black Swan Director: Darren Aronofsky Starring: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey, Winona Ryder Black Swan will be the most memorable flick you’ll see this year. Due to it being so amazingly strange! It’s a 107 minute marriage of Fame meets Poltergeist. Which basically equates to a psychological horror piece, with a Japanese flare. Director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream) brings his patent cinematography and fuses it with an acid-laced script. Audiences with either think he has created a masterpiece or a disaster-piece. Much like the ballet, one may or may not appreciate what is on the screen. And that’s fine because there may…
