The prequel to the Planet of the Apes series, Rise of the Apes, has been moved to a November 23 release date, according to The Hollywood Reporter and CinemaBlend. The film was originally set to hit theaters June 24, but, according to CinemaBlend, the move to a date like Thanksgiving doesn’t indicate any lack of faith in the film and its ability to clean up at the box office, since both dates are prime real estate for film releases. 20th Century Fox, the company behind the film, will place adventure-comedy The Sitter in the June spot instead. Natalie Portman is joining the cast of the Universal Pictures comedy “Your Highness”, which will also star Danny McBride and James Franco and is being directed by David Gordon Green (“Pineapple Express”). Scott Stuber produces through his U-based banner. Jon Mone and Andy Davis are executive producers of the project.
