Oscar Jaenada Joins The Losers

Blackfilm.com and Superherohype.com are reporting that Oscar Jaenada (“The Limits of Control”, “Che: Part Two”) has been cast as cowboy-hat wearing sniper Cougar in the upcoming Warner Bros. adaptation of the DC-Vertigo comic book “The Losers”. He’s joining Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba, Chris Evans, Columbus Short, Jason Patric, and Zoe Saldana in the film about a CIA-affiliated black ops team who are betrayed and cut loose, left to die on a mission. Check Out The Trailer for Batman Superman Public Enemies

A trailer has hit the web for the upcoming DC Animated direct-to-DVD feature “Batman/Superman: Public Enemies”. The trailer can be seen here on AICN. Based on a story arc from DC’s “Batman/Superman” book, the animated film finds the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight teaming up after the villainous Lex Luthor, now President of the United States, declares the two enemies of the state after blaming the coming of a giant kryptonite meteor on them and unleashes an army of both supervillains and other heroes on Batman and Superman. On the strength of the pilot, Fox has picked up comic book drama “Human Target”, starring Mark Valley (“Fringe”) and co-starring Jackie Earle Haley (“Watchmen”) and Chi McBride (“Pushing Daisies”). Based on the Vertigo/DC Comics title, the show centers on the Human Target, a freelance bodyguard named Christopher Chance. He offers a unique service, taking on the identity of his clients to draw attention towards him, thus becoming a literal human target. Here’s a few brand new Megan Fox photos from the set of “Jonah Hex” starring Josh Brolin, Megan Fox, and John Malkovich. Synopsis: “Jonah Hex” is a Western-themed comic book title created by John Albano and Tony DeZuniga for DC Comics in 1972. The right side of Hex’s face is horribly scarred, a ritual scarification from an Indian tribe and his most defining feature. Mania.com and Comics2Film are reporting that Chris Evans (“Push”, “Fantastic Four”) will be joining the cast of the film version of the DC Comics/Vertigo comic “The Losers”. “The Losers”, from Jock and Andy Diggle released by Vertigo from 2003 to 2006, is about an elite group of black-ops commandoes who are betrayed and left for dead by their CIA handlers and the mysterious man known as Max. Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana are in negotiations to join the cast of “The Losers,” Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures’ adaptation of the Vertigo/DC Comics book being directed by Sylvain White and written by Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt. Blackfilm.com is reporting that Columbus Short (“Stomp The Yard”) has joined the cast of “The Losers”, the adaptation of the DC/Vertigo comic series for Warner Bros. More Human Target Casting Announced

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Chi McBride (“Pushing Daisies”) and Jackie Earle Haley (“Little Children”, “Watchmen”) have joined the cast of the “Human Target” pilot episode, along with Mark Valley (“Fringe”) in the adaptation of the DC/Vertigo series about a mysterious PI and bodyguard named Christopher Chance, who assumes the identity of his clients. There is no mention of who McBride or Haley will be playing in the pilot. A TV pilot adaptation of the comic was filmed in 1990 starring Rick Springfield, but the series only briefly aired in 1992 with 7 episodes and followed a similar setup from the comic. Animated Green Lantern DVD Details Released

DC Animation have announced details for their upcoming animated feature “Green Lantern: First Flight”, the latest in their line of animated full-length features. “Green Lantern: First Flight” will be available as a special edition 2-disc version on both DVD and Blu-Ray Hi-Def for $29.98 (SRP) and $34.99 (SRP), respectively, as well as single-disc DVD for $19.98 (SRP). The DVD version comes with over three hours of extra content, including two featurettes, a digital copy download, and a widescreen (1.78:1) version. It also comes with two episodes of the animated “Justice League” series, hand-picked by animation legend Bruce Timm. Warner Going Ahead With The Suicide Squad

Warner Bros, according to a report from Variety, has greenlit DC Comic’s “Suicide Squad” for getting the big-screen treatment as a potential franchise, bringing villains as opposed to heroes to the forefront this time. A mix of obscure and well-known DC supervillains, the off-the-books Suicide Squad must bury their interpersonal conflicts and villainous egos in order to survive and hopefully, shave a few years off their sentences if they manage to survive. Variety.com is breaking the story of Warner Bros. courting Jeffrey Dean Morgan to star in their big-screen adaptation of the DC/Vertigo title “The Losers”. Morgan is slated to appear as The Comedian in the upcoming “Watchmen” movie, the highly-anticipated film adaptation of the famous Alan Moore and David Gibbons graphic novel in theaters March 6th.
