Bryan Cranston Joins John Carter Of Mars

Bryan Cranston has joined the cast of the upcoming live-action/CGI Disney project “John Carter of Mars.” Andrew Stanton is directing the film, which is set to begin filming next week. The story follows a Civil War veteran who mystically finds himself transported to the ancient history of the planet Mars, where he becomes embroiled in the wars raging between the various people of the planet, not all of which are friendly or even human-looking. Cranston will be playing a Civil War colonel who comes into conflict with Carter. Cranston joins Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Willem Dafoe, Samantha Morton and Polly Walker in the adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs book…

James Purefoy, Thomas Haden Church, and Mark Strong have all been confirmed as having joined the cast of “John Carter of Mars”, an adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs fantasy space books. Andrew Stanton is directing the project for Disney. Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins headline “John Carter Of Mars”, which centers on a Civil War veteran who finds himself mysteriously transported to the planet Mars, where he becomes embroiled in a war raging between various civilizations on the red planet. Lynn Collins Talks John Carter Of Mars

Lynn Collins, who will be starring in “The Burning Plain”, the upcoming planned live-action adaptation of the “John Carter, Warlord of Mars” franchise recently talked to MTV about the Edgar Rice Burroughs space fantasy classic. Collins said she’s already seen preliminary work of fight sequences she’ll be involved with, and says about the preproduction; “We’re actually getting into some hair and makeup tests this week to see what the look is like, [...] It’s really collaborative and really creative and I’m really excited about it.” Collins’ co-star in the film will be her “X-Men Orgins: Wolverine” costar Taylor Kitsch.
