Patton Oswalt And Jason Reitman Parody Alamo Drafthouse's Don't Talk PSA

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

Earlier this year saw the wrath of The Alamo Drafthouse when it came to people talking in their theater. The prestigious theater made a PSA after receiving a hilariously angry voicemail from a woman who was kicked out of the theater for using her cell phone. The PSA won a lot of fans (who really likes it when people talk in the theater?). Some of those fans include comedian Patton Oswalt and director Jason Reitman, both a part of the film “Young Adult.” Oswalt and Reitman decided to parody the now-infamous video while at the Drafthouse Cinema for a screening “Young Adult.” You can see the video below the post….

“Young Adult” is getting a lot of good press, particularly for Charlize Theron’s portrayal of an unlikeable YA writer who goes back to her hometown in order to get her “true love”(Patrick Wilson) who’s married with children. For those who are excited about the film and want to see more clips, Paramount has released a new clip called “Bookstore.” You can check it out below the post. The clip is also available for viewing on the film’s Facebook page. “Young Adult” also stars Patton Oswalt and Elizabeth Reaser and is directed by Jason Reitman. The script is by Diablo Cody. The official synopsis of the film is, according to the…

Young Adult Director Jason Reitman Hits New York Red Carpet Premiere

Monday, December 12th, 2011

Not many movie directors have the courage or talent to bring an unconventional, passive aggressive protagonist who audiences can ultimately relate to without judging them to the screen. But filmmaker Jason Reitman did just that with his new comedy drama ‘Young Adult,’ which is now in limited theatrical release and is set to expand wide on Friday, December 16, 2011. While on the red carpet of the New York premiere of the film on December 8 at the Ziegelfd Theatre, the helmer and producer took the time to discuss with us the process of shooting the movie. ‘Young Adult’ follows Mavis Gary (played by Charlize Theron), an emotionally immature 37-year-old…

Young Adult Cast Hits New York Premiere Red Carpet

Monday, December 12th, 2011

It’s not often an actress can convincingly play a passive aggressive protagonist, who is used to always being given what she wants, but can also elicit empathy and understanding from the audience. But Charlize Theron does exactly that in the new comedy-drama ‘Young Adult,’ which is now playing in select theaters and opens wide on December 16, 2011. At the film’s New York City red carpet premiere on December 8 at the Ziegfeld Theater, several of the Academy Award-winning actress’ co-stars from the film readily praised her ease at playing such an emotionally immature character. ‘Young Adult,’ which was directed and produced by Jason Reitman, follows Theron’s Mavis Gary as…

Young Adult Movie Review 2

Friday, December 9th, 2011

Title: Young Adult Director: Jason Reitman Screenwriter: Diablo Cody Cast: Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser Screened: AMC Lincoln Square, NYC, 12/5/11 Opens: December 9, 2011 The usual reason that people give for attending reunions of their high school and college classes is to get together with the folks they knew in better, freer times, see how they look, compare notes on who is successful and who are the flops. There may be subconscious desires to run into their old flames not just to reminisce about old times but actually to hook up. Why not? You can’t do it if you don’t try. But usually people who are…

Young Adult Movie Review

Monday, December 5th, 2011

Title: Young Adult Directed By: Jason Reitman Starring: Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser, Collette Wolfe Mavis Gary might not have grown up in the least, but Diablo Cody has achieved an incredible degree of maturity in her latest piece, Young Adult. While Young Adult exudes a different type of comedy as compared to Juno and most certainly Jennifer’s Body, it still maintains the zest, heart and humor that solidified Cody as a top-notch screenwriter back in 2007. Mavis Gary (Charlize Theron) is a successful young adult writer living in the big city of Minneapolis, Minnesota – well, a once successful ghostwriter. Not only is Mavis’ name not…

Young Adult Red Band Clip Leaves Reaser Speechless And Theron Full Of Expletives

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

We’ve got a bit of a problem; I love this clip, but it somewhat spoils one of the best scenes in Young Adult. In fact, I don’t know if I even want to describe the clip here. Let’s just leave it as a “watch at your own risk” piece and move onto a full film synopsis. Charlize Theron is Mavis Gary, a former high school hottie who moved to the “Mini Apple,” Minneapolis, and became the ghostwriter of a popular young adult novel series. After a failed marriage and getting assigned to pen the final installment of the now-failing Waverly Prep collection, Mavis opts to return to her glory days…

Breaking Dawn

Review: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1

Friday, November 18th, 2011

Title: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 Director: Bill Condon Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Sarah Clarke, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Booboo Stewart, Chaske Spencer, Julia Jones About 4 of the 117 minutes that make up “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ will capture your attention. Those 4 minutes are nearly ruined, too, when some opens their mouth; which ends up being a frequent, and indirectly funny, occurrence. The story is quite simple in this installment: Vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and human Bella (Kristen Stewart) are finally getting hitched. Everyone is happy about this….

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 Movie Review

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

Title: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 Directed By: Bill Condon Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Sarah Clarke, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Booboo Stewart, Chaske Spencer, Julia Jones After three immensely successful productions, why would Summit Entertainment change their formula now? Of course the studio wouldn’t, but you’d think bringing aboard an Oscar-winning director would almost naturally warrant some changes for the better, but sadly, Bill Condon’s prowess was entirely consumed by the drone of The Twilight Saga and he actually winds up delivering a piece that’s rather sub par to two of the previous installments….
