Advertisers to Pay Big Bucks for ER Finale

NBC has announced that they are seeking $425,000 for a 30-second advertising spot on “ER”s April 2 series finale. The medical drama, who is closing its doors after 15 seasons, is saying goodbye with a two-hour-long episode that features the show’s original stars, such as George Clooney, Noah Wyle, Julianna Margulies, Maura Tierney, Alex Kingston, Sherry Stringfield, Eriq La Salle, Anthony Edwards and other cast members. La Salle also directed a recent episode of the show, entitled The Family Man, in addition to making an appearance as his former “ER” character, Dr. Peter Benton. NBC’s medical drama “ER” may be coming to a close, but not before they go out with a big bang! “The Insider” has revealed that “ER” alum George Clooney will be making an appearance in the series’ finale season. Representatives for Julianna Margulies have also confirmed that she, too, will be returning for the final episodes. George Clooney was a star on “ER” for 5 seasons, coming back for a brief appearance in 2000 to set up the reason for departure for Julianna Margulies’ character, Nurse Carol Hathaway. Michael Crichton, the renowned science-fiction novels from “The Andromeda Strain” to “Jurassic Park”, has died due to a long-running but private battle with cancer, Entertainment Tonight is reporting.
