Red Movie Begins Principal Photography

Summit Entertainment has confirmed that principal photography for the spy-thriller movie “Red”, based on the DC Comics graphic novel written by Warren Ellis, has began in Toronto. The novel follows the life of Frank Moses, a former CIA agent, set to be played by Bruce Willis. Moses is living a normal life until an assassin comes looking for him. In an effort to save not only his life but the life of the woman he cares for, played by Mary-Louise Parker, Frank calls on his old team, portrayed by Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, and John Malkovich, to help him survive. Red Gets Release Date

Summit Entertainment has set October 22nd, 2010 as the release date for “Red”, the big-screen espionage/action adaptation of the Wildstorm/DC Comics comic from Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. The film stars Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John C. Reilly, Mary-Louise Parker, Brian Cox, Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss, Brian Cox and James Remar. The film is about a retired former CIA assassin, who is targeted by his former employers when they decide he knows too much, but when they fail he goes on the warpath against them. James Remar Joins The Cast Of Red

James Remar from the hit TV series “Dexter” has joined the cast of “Red” from Summit Entertainment, the adaptation of the Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner Wildstorm/DC Comics comic book fo the same name. Remar joins Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, Julian McMahon, Brian Cox, John C. Reilly, Ernest Borgnine, and Richard Dreyfuss in the spy/action project about a retired black-ops CIA assassin who finds himself targeted by his former handlers, and sets out for revenge. More Red Casting News Announced

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss and Brian Cox are all in talks to finalize their joining the cast of “Red”, the adaptation of the action espionage comic book by renowned author Warren Ellis and artist Cully Hamner. “Red” is about a retired special ops hitman, played by Willis, who goes on the warpath when sis existence is ordered to be covered up by the shadowy government forces he once worked for.
