Uwe Boll

Exclusive: Uwe Boll Admits His Wife Doesn't Like His Movies

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

German-born director Uwe Boll is a throwback of sorts to the pioneers of traveling, self-distributed filmmaking — part storyteller, (perhaps much larger) part huckster. Whatever one thinks of him, he is certainly prolific, cranking out around three movies a year over the last half-decade. Brent Simon recently had a chance to speak with the inimitable Boll about his new film ”In the Name of the King 2,” U.S. presidential politics, his passion project “Bailout,” which 2011 box office hit he can’t believe made so much money, and how his wife doesn’t like his movies. The conversation is excerpted below: ShockYa: ”In the Name of the King 2″ speaks a lot of prophesy and destiny,…

Conan the Adventurer

DVD Review: Conan The Adventurer

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

Title: Conan The Adventurer 1991 Animated Series by Hasbro Starring: Garry Chalk, Michael Donovan, Janyse Jaud Running Time: 5 hours, 2 discs, Unrated- for all audiences Conan of Cimmeria is on a quest to search for the evil serpent-man and wizard Wrath-Amon, who imprisoned Conan’s family into living stone. Armed with a sword forged from a mysterious star metal, he and his friends set off on a journey to save Conan’s family and also find adventure. I probably watched this show growing up, and one thing I couldn’t stand about kids cartoon shows is the pandering. There’s always an overly cutesy or annoying character with the weird screechy voice that…

Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows 2 Trailer Is Absolutely Magical

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

I don’t know about the movie as a whole, but in terms of trailers, the Harry Potter franchise is going out with one heck of a bang. Ever since the first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the Potter theme has given me chills time and time again and the trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 kicks off with just that. After the unforgettable jingle fades out, we get a series of absolutely incredible visuals charged by a powerful score. If you were of the camp that felt The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 was lacking in action, Part 2 certainly won’t disappoint. The CGI and…
