With the Cannes Film Festival about to begin, brand new posters are popping up all over town. Empire is on the scene and has already posted snapshots of promo material for three films, Gulliver’s Travels, Kane & Lynch and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The third installment of the Narnia series gets a fairly run-of-the-mill showing. It’s difficult to make out the faces on either side of the title, but anyone can tell that one is clearly the lion, Aslan. Another Hollywood starlet has been caught in the web of Iron Man 2‘s casting for Black Widow. Not much sooner after actress Eliza Dushku, the new star of Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse”, announced she was interested in the comic book-adapted role, actress Scarlett Johansson is reportedly to want to take on the role as well. This marks the third high-profile actress to be rumored for the role of Natasha Romanoff, or her evil side Black Widow, making it one of Hollywood’s currently most coveted roles. Actor Jason Segel is in negotiations to co-star in Jack Black-fronting film, Gulliver’s Travels, Fox’s modern re-imagining of Jonathan Swift’s classic tale. Actress Emily Blunt has been offered a large part in the film as well, but there is no word on the progress that is making. Filmmaker Rob Letterman, who has written and directed Shark Tale and the upcoming Monsters vs. Aliens, is directing the famous story about a travel writer named Lemuel Gulliver (Black), who was on an assignment to the Bermuda Triangle and ends up being washed upon the hidden island of Lilliput, home to a population of hardworking, thumb-sized people.
