IESB is reporting that Steven Spielberg is in talks to take on the long-rumored and much-anticipated HALO movie, based on the popular video game franchise about the futuristic super-soldier known as Master Chief as he aides humanity in a war against the invading forces of the Covenant, a theocratic alliance of various aliens intent on taking Earth. Spielberg is, according to the report, blown away by Stuart Beattie’s script of the adaptation, titled “HALO: The Fall of Reach” and looking for a project for the upcoming independent studio under Dreamworks and Walt Disney Pictures. TEMPE, Ariz. – Sept. 9, 2008 – Today McFarlane Toys along with Microsoft Game Studios have announced the availability of action figures for “Halo Wars,” the strategy video game based on the legendary “Halo” universe for the Xbox 360. Here’s the latest Roadrunner Records release “Halo” from Machine Head. Halo is the third single from the album “The Blackening” by the metal band Machine Head. This is the only song on the album to be written by all four band members. It was also featured as one of the metal genre track in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage.

Take a look at what we came across while scouring Youtube. I’m not totally positive, but it appears that it might be a clip from the upcoming untitled J.J. Abrams project “Cloverfield” aka 01-18-08 by director Matt Reeves. One Youtube viewer noticed a “flash noise in the background” that may match the trailer that was shown during Michael Bay’s “Transformers”. The guys over at Britfilms.tv seem to think it might be another clip from Neil Blomkamp’s live action “Halo” that we posted earlier this month HERE. Take a look and you be the judge!
