HBO is close to ordering a pilot episode for a series based on the hit Jonathan Franzen novel “The Corrections”, and Anthony Hopkins has expressed interest in playing one of the central characters, AOL TV is reporting. The book is a multi-layered family drama that took place over several decades of the 20th century. It follows the lives of Alfred and Enid Lambert, an elderly Midwestern couple, and their three adult children. Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly have ended their three-year relationship, PEOPLE is reporting. The split was reportedly amicable, and the two remain friends and care for each other. JustJared is confirming the break-up of the New York Yankee shortstop, who is known for dating such celebrities as Mariah Carey, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel and Scarlett Johansson, and the star of the upcoming ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot. The body of Michael Showers, who appeared on the hit HBO drama ‘Treme,’ has been found floating in the Mississippi River, the Huffington Post is reporting. He was discovered around 11:45 am on August 24, 2011 by the captain of the steamboat Natchez near New Orleans’ French Quarter, Harbor Police are confirming. The 45-year-old actor was known for playing a police officer, Captain John Guidry, on ‘Treme,’ which premiered in Spring 2010 and has aired two seasons. The drama is set in the New Orleans neighborhood of Treme in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. ‘The Carrie Diaries,’ the potential television series based on ‘Sex and the City’ author Candice Bushnell’s recent book about Carrie Bradshaw’s high school years, may be headed to The CW, Deadline is reporting. The teen-focused network is currently in the preliminary talks with Warner Bros. TV, which would produce the series. ‘Gossip Girl’ executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are being considered to produce the show through their Warner Bros.
