The trailer, “Dog Soldiers: Red,” which is certainly not for the faint of heart, is below the post. Also below are some production stills. D. Eric Allen, Kismet vice president, produced the Ryan Lightbourn-trailer and many of his family members cast, including his grandmother Pat “Nan” Allen who plays the anxious grandmother and his sister Emmy Allen who portrays “Red”. The trailer was shot in a weekend in Northern Arkansas in August 2011. “The trailer  [ Read More ]

Director Adam Wingard feels very pleased with the success of his film. “I’m pretty satisfied with it,” he said when asked about the positive response the indie circuit has given his film “A Horrible Way To Die.” “The criticism is generally one of two things; some people think it’s either too stylized, particularly with the camera work, or the ending is too stylized. Some people felt the ending was too over the top. But the reception’s been great. We got a positive review from the New York Times, and the reaction is pretty accurate to how I feel about the film.” Quite a lot of the buzz is about the  [ Read More ]

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark Movie Review

Posted by Perri Nemiroff On August - 24 - 2011 0 Comment

Title: Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark Director: Troy Nixey Starring: Bailee Madison, Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Jack Thompson, Julia Blake Haunted house films are back in full force. In April we got the beautifully modest and wildly enjoyable Insidious from James Wan and now Guillermo del Toro and Co. are giving the subgenre a go with Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. While the two are rooted in entirely different core concepts, they do have quite a bit in common, namely child stars vs. evil entities, eerily warm yet threatening tones, fantastic visuals and the fact that they’re both incredibly frightening, exhilarating and entertaining all in one. Haunted house  [ Read More ]

Director Craig Gillespie has had an interesting career. After making his debut with “Lars and the Real Girl,” episodic television work ensued, followed by a contretemps over the comedy “Mr. Woodcock,” starring Seann William Scott, Susan Sarandon and Billy Bob Thornton that saw him removed from the project. His latest film is the adaptation/reboot of 1985′s horror-comedy “Fright Night,” starring Anton Yelchin as a Las Vegas high school kid who finds out his new neighbor (Colin Farrell) is actually a vampire. ShockYa recently had the chance to talk to Gillespie one-on-one about what attracted him to “Fright Night,” what he thought about shooting the movie in 3-D, and his next film, the genre  [ Read More ]

The Woman In Black Trailer Released

Posted by monique On August - 18 - 2011 0 Comment

A few days ago, ShockYa posted the first look at Daniel Radcliffe’s thriller “The Woman In Black.” Now, Yahoo! Movies has released the trailer of the film. And it’s creepy, complete with prerequisite scary children, creepy dolls (I’m not sure which are creepier: the moldy porcelain dolls, the clowns, or the monkeys), and the scary window shot. You can check out the trailer here as well as below this post. On the whole, the film looks like it’s going to be genuinely disturbing. Kinda weird that it’s coming out in Feburary, a month which is deemed by movie-makers and movie-goers as a month where sub-par movies go to die, because  [ Read More ]

In the experience, the “Ghostface Killer” of the fictional “Stab” movies within the “Scream” films will be unleashed on the world-famous backlot. Mirroring the “movie within a movie” aspect of the “Scream” movies, the experience will introduce guests to the “Stab” franchise and lead them toward the set of “Stab 8″, which is being “filmed” on the backlot. The element of fantasy clash with the reality of the moment when guests come face-to-face with  [ Read More ]
