After the recently released montage of bloody battle scenes, a non-brutal piece of promo material for the new release Ironclad comes as a bit of a surprise. Okay, the Aika music video for “Dancing Arrows” isn’t devoid of violence, but Kate Mara and the film’s romantic side certainly take center stage here. How about a little blood and guts before bed? A montage of gruesome battle scenes from the upcoming film Ironclad popped up on YouTube and it’s brimming with grisly sword battles, dismembered limbs and impalements all drenched in the brightest red blood. When you’re finished soaking up this gory goodness, be sure to check out the film’s trailer as it shows that Ironclad is much more than a series of wicked fight scenes. Paul Giamatti Joins Ironclad

Variety.com is reporting that Paul Giamatti has signed on to play the tyrannical King John in the medieval action flick “Ironclad,” which is starting production in Wales next month. James Purefoy has already been cast to star. Jonathan English (“Minotaur”) is directing, based on a script by him, Erick Kastel and Steve McDool. Rick Benattar and Andrew Curtis are producing. The film is set in 13th-century England and follows Purefoy as a member of the formidable and legendary Knights Templar who ends up defending Rochester Castle against Giammati’s King John and his ruthless army.
