Superherohype.com is reporting that the scheduled Tuesday January 20th court conference between Fox Studios’ and Warner Bros’ attorneys has been cancelled, fueling rumors about a possible settlement in the “Watchmen” case between Warner Bros and Fox. Fox initially sued Warner last February claiming the studio infringed on their right to make the comic book adaptation, and that Warner’s claim to the rights for the adaptation were in violation of Fox’s earlier ones. In December, when federal judge Gary A. Feess ruled that Fox has distribution rights to the film, Warner Bros faced the unfortunate prospect of having the film’s release blocked. Rich Johnston’s “Lying In The Gutters” column over at Comic Book Resources has an exclusive news leak regarding the ongoing legal wrangling between Fox and Warner Bros over the upcoming and highly-anticipated “Watchmen” film.
