The first picture featuring John Cusack in the film currently titled “The Raven” has been released by Relativity Media. The film stars John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe, one of American literature’s more morbid and haunted writers. The film is being directed by James McTeigue and will be in theaters March 9, 2012. Relativity Medias has acquired the marketing and distribution rights for director James McTeigue’s new movie, ‘The Raven,’ the studio announced via a press release. The movie was produced by Intrepid Pictures, and stars John Cusack, Luke Evans, Alice Eve, Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. ‘The Raven’ is a fictionalized story of the end of Edgar Allan Poe’s life, as he trails a serial killer who copies killings detailed in his work. The movie began shooting in Hungary in November before it moved to Serbia last month. I’ve done a lot of interviews, but never once has the interviewee beat me to the first question. Not only did Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink throw a question my way before I could ask him one, but he asked me something totally predictable and simplistic, yet a question that caught me completely off guard. AMC Entertainment recently interviewed some of the cast from the upcoming comedy “Hot Tub Time Machine” by director Steve Pink (Speechless, Accepted) and starring John Cusack (The Factory, 2012), Chevy Chase (Not Another Not Another Movie, Jack and the Beanstalk), Crispin Glover (Alice in Wonderland) and Lizzy Caplan. Screenwriter Matthew Greenberg is on board to adapt another Stephen King story for the big screen, The Hollywood Reporter announced on March 4. Greenberg, who penned the screenplay for the 2007 hit ’1408′ with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, is now set to write the movie remake of King’s novel ‘Pet Sematary.’ Paramount Pictures is releasing the movie, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who produced ’1408,’ and Steven Schneider set to produce. ‘Pet Sematary’ was at one point going to be produced by Alphaville, with Mike Werb and Michael Colleary from ‘Face/Off’ fame set to write. Matt Greenberg, who co-wrote the adaptation of the Stephen King story “1408″ and starred John Cusack,is working on an updated adaptation of of King’s famous work “Pet Sematary,” which was previously adapted to film in 1989. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Schneider are producing the film for Paramount.
