Screenwriter Michael Chabon has been hired to write the script for the upcoming Disney movie ‘Magic Kingdom,’ which will be based on the resort’s flagship theme park, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author initially spoke to the movie’s director, Jon Favreau, in March 2011 before he met with Disney executives. The details about the story are being kept secret. However, Chabon, who is reportedly writing a Broadway play based on ‘Dumbo,’ was hired to rewrite the script, which was originally written by ‘Battlestar Galactica’s Ron Moore, when Favreau was hired as the director. After the airing of “American Idol” yesterday (my sympathies, Paul McDonald fans!), the newest trailer for “Cowboys and Aliens” aired. This trailer showed more of the film (and for the guys, more of Olivia Wilde’s naked torso). The trailer, found below this story, shows Daniel Craig’s character Jake Lonergan, who wakes up in the desert, not knowing his name or his past.
