Tom Cruise has officially been cast in Universal Pictures’ upcoming sci-fi movie ‘Oblivion,’ Deadline is reporting. The news comes after the ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’ actor was rumored to be attached to the movie, which is based on the Radical Publishing graphic novel and is being helmed by ‘Tron: Legacy’ director Joseph Kosinski. ‘Oblivion,’ which is set in an apocalyptic future, follows humans as they’re forced to live in clouds above Earth, which has been deemed uninhabitable.
