Angels Crest

Angels Crest Movie Review

Friday, January 13th, 2012

Title: Angels Crest Director: Gaby Dellal Starring: Thomas Dekker, Lynn Collins, Mira Sorvino, Jeremy Piven, Kate Walsh, Elizabeth McGovern, Joseph Morgan A description or listing of all the recombinant parts of drama “Angels Crest” runs the risk of making it sound more interesting than it actually is. An adaptation of a missing-child novel by Leslie Schwartz, director Gaby Dellal’s wintry indie is a not very subtle and generally unpersuasive stab at tapestral grief-as-elegy. If cinematic skill lies partially in making an audience feel things they’ve felt before, but in new and different ways, “Angels Crest” is a highlighted, underlined, out-of-date textbook, dogmatic about its presentation, no matter how overly familiar it…

Two New Original Vampire Brothers Cast on The Vampire Diaries

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Klaus’ two other Original Brothers have been cast in recurring roles on ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ TVGuide is reporting. British actor Caspar Zafer of ‘La Femme Muskateer’ fame has been offered the role of Finn, while Australian actor Nathaniel Buzzolic from ‘Out of the Blue’ is set to play Kol. Both brothers are upset with Klaus, portrayed by Joseph Morgan, as he’s locked them up in his coffins. The casting of Zafter and Buzzolic comes after Klaus’ step-father, Mikael, played by Sebastian Roche, previously appeared in the third season of the hit CW supernatural series. Klaus killed Mikael during the midseason finale, however. Klaus’ sister, Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, was…

Immortals Movie Review

Friday, November 11th, 2011

Title: Immortals Directed By: Tarsem Singh Starring: Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Stephen Dorff, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, John Hurt, Joseph Morgan, Greg Bryk, Kellan Lutz, Isabel Lucas, Daniel Sharman There are so many pieces to the filmmaking puzzle; it’s really no wonder so many movies can’t pull it all together. With the visual king, Tarsem Singh, behind the lens, Immortals was basically guaranteed to be imagery eye candy and, sure enough, Singh delivers big time. If only he’d learn to put the same amount of time and energy into honing his script, Immortals could have given 300 a run for its money. Way back when, there was a brutal war…

SDCC 2011: All Good Things Must Come To An End ... With A Giveaway!

Monday, July 25th, 2011

I can’t believe it, but this is officially it; my coverage of San Diego Comic Con 2011 has come to a close. For five incredibly long days, the experience went by in a flash. The action was non-stop from the moment I touched down in San Diego and while it was extremely exhausting and probably one of the most trying working experiences I’ve ever gone through, it was beyond worth it. So, what’d you think? Did you like my coverage choices? Were the formats I chose to report in effective? Do let me know because I’m thrilled to say, it looks as though I’ll be returning to Comic Con next…

SDCC 2011: Interview With The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder And Nina Dobrev

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

After having the opportunity to speak with the ones responsible for creating The Vampire Diaries and sending the show’s characters on one heck of a tumultuous adventure, writer-producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson, we got to chat with two of the actors thrown right into the middle of it all, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev. SPOILER ALERT: Major season one and two spoilers in this interview. Season two came to a close with Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) exit. As dictated by his deal with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), he must leave Elena (Dobrev) behind to accompany Klaus on whatever it is he’s got planned, likely something devastating as he’s now an all-powerful…

SDCC 2011: Saturday Wrap Up And Photos

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

I can’t believe it, but I’ve reached the finish line. Saturday at San Diego Comic Con 2011 has come to a close. While I’m certainly looking forward to a long day’s rest and not having to lug my hefty laptop around everywhere I go, my coverage schedule wrapping up is a bit sad. At least it all ended on a high note. Today was another non-stop adventure beginning with Summit Entertainment’s The Darkest Hour presentation. Unlike the big panels in Hall H, this was far more intimate, Summit inviting a group of reporters to a suite in the Hard Rock Hotel to check out some concept art, stills and the…

SDCC 2011: Interviews With The Vampire Diaries Writer-Producers Julie Plec And Kevin Williamson

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

If you’re looking for details on a television show’s upcoming season, who better to talk to than the show’s writer-producers? Just before hitting the stage of The Vampire Diaries panel, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson spent some time in the pressroom for some more intimate conversations on the show’s third season. SPOILER ALERT: These interviews contain MAJOR season one and two spoilers. While Plec never crosses over into spoiler territory in terms of the new material, she certainly doesn’t hold back in the least when it came to discussing what to expect come September 15th. She speaks quite a bit about Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) fate, as he’s a young…

Friday, January 28th, 2011

British actor Joseph Morgan is currently in talks to portray the often discussed but never seen legendary vampire Klaus in the hit CW series ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ TVline.com is reporting. While fans of the series have suggested several bigger-name actors for the role, including Henry Cavill, Jason Dohring and Gale Harold, Julie Plec and her fellow producers said they were more likely to cast a relative unknown in the role. “This idea that there might be somebody out there that no one’s really familiar with yet that can be…
