Carl Erik Rinsch Latest Director to Leave Logan's Run Remake

The directors attached to Warner Brothers’ new proposed “Logan’s Run” remake have as short of a life as the characters in the film, and  Carl Erik Rinsch is no exception. The commercial director, who was the latest attached to helm the remake of the 1976 movie, has left the project to instead concentrate on Universal’s ’47 Ronin’ with Keanu Reeves, Slashfilm.com is reporting. Now Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman, the producers of ‘Logan’s Run,’ are yet again looking for someone else to direct the movie, which was penned by ’28 Days Later’ screenwriter Alex Garland. Muccino Working On Passengers

The Italian director Gabriele Muccino (“The Pursuit of Happyness”) is in talks to negotiations to direct Keanu Reeves in Morgan Creek’s science-fiction “Passengers.” Muccino says that he expects to start shooting “Passengers”, which is being developed by Reeves and his Company films partner Stephen Hamel. James G. Robinson will produce, with Jon Spaihts writing the script. Scott Stuber To Helm 47 Ronin

Variety.com is reporting that Universal Pictures is attaching Carl Erik Rinsch to direct “47 Ronin,” the historical samurai epic that will star Keanu Reeves. Scott Stuber is producing through Stuber Pictures, with Pam Abdy producing. Rinsch has previously shot various commercials for RSA, Heineken, and Mercedes. “47 Ronin” would be the latest retelling of the famous true story from Japen’s feudal history. Talking to MTV, “The Day The Earth Stood Still” star Keanu Reeves’ love of the hit anime series “Cowboy Bebop” and his desire to work on an adaptation of the project has come to light.
