Clark Gregg, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson in “Iron Man” as well as the upcoming “Iron Man 2″, will reprise his role in the upcoming Marvel film “Thor”. Gregg’s Coulson is an agent of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, or S.H.I.E.L.D, a government agency dealing with above-average threats that border on the superhuman. Adriana Barraza (Drag Me to Hell) is in negotiations to join the cast of “Thor” from Marvel Studios, directed by Kenneth Branagh. The film is a big-screen adaptation of the Marvel Comics chacter Thor, the Norse god of thunder. No specifics have been released yet on her role, but it has been confirmed that Barraza will play one of the humans. Variety.com is reporting that Kat Dennings (“Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”) has joined the cast of Marvel Studio’s “Thor,” thethe big-screen adaptation of the Marvel Comics character that is set to begin filming this January. Dennings will play Darcy, a coworker of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). The character of Thor, created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Larry Lieber, debuted in 1962 in “Journey Into Mystery”. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that there’s more casting news for the live-action “Thor” movie from Marvel Studios, being directed by Kenneth Branagh. Jaimie Alexander (“Kyle XY”) and Colm Feore (“The Chronicles of Riddick”) have joined the cast alongside Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Alexander and Feore join Chris Hemsworth, already cast as Thor, Tom Hiddleston, who will play the Norse trickster god Loki, and Natalie Portman as Thor’s human love Jane Foster.
