Hitfix is reporting that Bradley Cooper (“Alias”, “The Hangover”) is a frontrunner to portray Hal Jordan in Martin Campbell’s adaptation of the DC title “Green Lantern” though no deal has been signed yet. The film is set for a December 17th, 2010 release. The “Green Lantern” was created in 1940 by Bill Finger and Martin Nodell, though several characters have used the name. Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ next big budget feature, the big-screen adaptation of “Green Lantern” will be made at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”) will be directing the comic book’s big screen adaptation, working from a script by Greg Berlanti and Michael Green. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Canada-based Legacy Filmworks, production-finance group Bron Management and comic-book publisher and transmedia outfit Arcana Studios have teamed to produce a slate of five films based on Arcana’s comic titles, the first being the science-fiction crime thriller “Paradox”. “Paradox” will star Kevin Sorbo, best known for his role in the 90′s “Hercules” TV series, and be directed by Brenton Spencer. Actress Mariska Hargitay has hinted she may be leaving “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” after nearly ten years to spend more time with her child. Hargitay, who started playing Detective Olivia Benson in the long-running TV drama in 1999, admits she’s missing out on family time and is thinking about leaving the show.
