“Casino Royale” director Martin Campbell is reportedly negotiating with Warner Bros to officially be tapped as the director of “Green Lantern”, a live-action adaptation of DC Comics’ emerald-green ring-slinging space cop character.
Producer Donald De Line will be producing alongside Greg Berlanti, who was initially going to direct. With no formal date set for a release of a third Nolan-helmed Batman film and other major DC projects frozen or dead, such as another “Superman” film or the proposed “Justice League” project, “Green Lantern” is being primed to be the next big DC title to hit the silver screen in the next year or two.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Canada-based Legacy Filmworks, production-finance group Bron Management and comic-book publisher and transmedia outfit Arcana Studios have teamed to produce a slate of five films based on Arcana’s comic titles, the first being the science-fiction crime thriller “Paradox”.
“Paradox” will star Kevin Sorbo, best known for his role in the 90’s “Hercules” TV series, and be directed by Brenton Spencer. Sorbo will a homicide cop on a parallel magic-oriented Earth, who ends up investigating a series of murders committed by a previously unseen power, that of science. Actress Mariska Hargitay has hinted she may be leaving “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” after nearly ten years to spend more time with her child.
Hargitay, who started playing Detective Olivia Benson in the long-running TV drama in 1999, admits she’s missing out on family time and is thinking about leaving the show.
She tells Ladies Home Journal, “I just want to see my kid.”
Hargitay and husband Peter Hermann had a son, August, who was born in 2006 and the actress admits she and Hermann are trying to have a second child.

Marc Guggenheim, the writer of Warner Bros’ upcoming “Green Lantern” movie and veteran writer of comics and TV shows such as the Marvel title “Young X-Men”, and the shows “The Practice” and “Law & Order”, recently talked to MTV’s Splashpage about the emerald space cops and his vision of the world of the Green Lantern Corps. Television actor John Berg was found dead in his home in Van Nuys Sunday, he was 58 years old. The cause of death has not yet been determined. John Berg was best know as a character actor in many popular television series such as NCIS, The Practice, Monk, House M.d., Boston Legal and Law & Order. John Berg also starred in several day time soap opera’s “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless”.
