The cast of Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” is shaping up! Deadline is reporting that Kevin Costner has been tapped to play Ace Woody, a slave driver who fights slaves to the death. According to Deadline, Woody is “the sadistic trainer of male fighting slaves who entertain the white patrons of [club] Candyland as well as the female slaves who are forced to be prostitutes.” Costner, if his negotiations go through, will play alongside Leonardo DiCaprio (who will be Calvin Candie, the owner of the club and ranch in the film) as the villains of the film which Tarantino is calling a “Southern,” a film that has western sensibilities but is…

Shockya reported a while ago that director Baz Lurhmann was considering filming his version of “The Great Gatsby” in 3D. Now it’s been confirmed by Vulture that the film will, in fact, be shot using 3D technology. In the last report about the film, we reported that Lurhmann was heavily considering shooting the film in 3D, but was having reservations due to the reverence “The Great Gatsby” has earned from critics and fans, both in its original book form and the 1974 movie adaptation. Lurhmann also is reported to have said that he had workshopped the film in 3D to see how it’ll play out, also showing that great thought…

A short while ago the feature film version of Jordan Belfort’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” was nestled up at Warner Bros with Ridley Scott attached to direct. That’s not the case anymore, especially since “Wolf” is no longer in Warner Bros’ possession. Rick Yorn, best known as Leonardo DiCaprio’s manager, has secured independent financing for “Wolf.” Of course that means Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in “Wolf” with Martin Scorsese directing the project. That’s certainly quite a sudden leap from where it was previously. “Wolf of Wall Street” focuses on Jordan Belfort, former kingpin of the notorious investment firm Stratton Oakmont, which became one of the most infamous…

You’ve still got a little while to go until I unveil my top ten movies of the year, but here’s something to hold you over: IMBd’s Top 10 Films and Stars. It should come as no surprise that top star of 2010 is Johnny Depp. Not only did he star in one of the year’s highest earners, Alice in Wonderland, but he’s just one of the most famous guys out there regardless. Twilight fans managed to snag the second and third spots…

Australian director Baz Luhrmann has been trying to shop around the idea of adapting the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel ‘The Great Gatsby,’ Cinemablend.com is reporting. Real life friends Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire are rumored to star in the adaptation, with Amanda Seyfriend and Rebecca Hall in the running as well. While Luhrmann has confirmed that he’s writing the script, he hasn’t confirmed any other details of the project, including who would be starring in it. He also said that he’s not even sure what his next project is going to be yet, so the adaptation isn’t on the fast-track right now. But rumors are also circulating that Luhrmann is currently…

After rumors began swirling that Joaquin Phoenix was going to resurrect his acting career by appearing in the new J. Edgar Hoover biography, director Clint Eastwood is denying the claims. Cinemablend.com is reporting that while Leonardo DiCaprio has been signed to star as the founder of the FBI, the movie’s screenwriter, Dustin Lance Black, previously suggested that Phoenix was in the running to play Hoover’s protege and suspected lover, Clyde Tolson. When asked about the casting rumors, Eastwood said, “No, I don’t know where that came from.” But he subtly confirmed that the movie will discuss Hoover’s rumored homosexuality, saying “He was a very complex person. The homosexual aspect is just…

Leonardo DiCaprio’s suspected stalker, Livia Bistriceanu, has been served with a restraining order, as she’s been saying she’s married to the actor and his carrying his child, who she thinks is Jesus, FOXNews.com reported on August 27. DiCaprio filed documents in L.A. County Superior court, claiming Bistriceanu has been constantly trying to e-mail him. DiCaprio added that he’s frightened of Bistriceanu, and fears for his own safety and the safety of those closest to him. His lawyer included a letter she wrote to him with the documents.
