Shia LaBeouf to Appear in Horns Adaptation

Shia LaBeouf has signed on to play Ignatius “Ig” Perrish in the movie adaptation of the Joe Hill novel Horns, www.reelzchannel.com is reporting. Keith Bunin is set to write the script, which will follow Ig, a 26-year-old who wakes up the morning after the first anniversary of his girlfriend’s murder to find that he’s growing horns from his head. ‘Horns’ will follow Ig’s investigation into his girlfriend’s unsolved murder and its connection to his cursed fate. He’s determined to exonerate himself, as he’s the only suspect in the murder. Ig will use the new power that came with his horns, the ability to manipulate people and to hear their darkest…

Mandalay Adapting Horns

Mandalay Pictures has optioned the rights to bring the upcoming novel “Horns,” penned by Stephen King’s son, novelist Joe Hill, to life on the big-screen. The book is about a 26-year-old man who wakes up one morning after blacking out during an all-night drinking binge to find a pair of horns sprouting from his head. The horns seem to grow more every day, and are somehow tied into the unsolved murder of his girlfriend. The book will be published by William Morrow in February of 2010. The rights to hit Japanese anime series “Full Metal Panic!” have been acquired by Mandalay Pictures to develop a big-screen version of the series. Often abbreviated “FMP”, the series Shoji Gatoh’s series about is a teenage anti-terrorist commando from the group Mithril named Sousuke Sagara. He is given the mission to protect a popular high-school girl with mystical powers that give her almost superhuman knowledge of advanced sciences that could either help or destroy mankind.
