The Ides of March Movie Review 2

Saturday, October 8th, 2011

Title: The Ides of March Directed by: George Clooney Starring: Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood Political films often strive to showcase the views of the director and screenwriter, and often times only appeal to the people who agree with their opinions. While George Clooney, who not only starred in the new political drama ‘The Ides of March,’ but also directed, co-wrote and produced it as well, infused his liberal beliefs into the movie, he also created unique characters that audiences can relate to. Salvation Boulevard

Salvation Boulevard Movie Review

Friday, July 15th, 2011

Title: Salvation Boulevard Director: George Ratliff Starring: Greg Kinnear, Pierce Brosnan, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Yul Vazquez, Marisa Tomei, Jim Gaffigan, Isabelle Fuhrman, Ciaran Hinds, Howard Hesseman Its title awash in suburban metaphorical significance, Salvation Boulevard sounds like one of those dramas where some already stressed-out parents suffer and cope with the unexpected loss of a child, or maybe reconcile after decades of emotional drift and infidelity. After an hour with plenty of chilly exchanges, someone flips their lid in the kitchen and starts yelling, maybe smashing a glass or turning over a dining set for effect. Well, histrionics do indeed eventually take center stage here, but Salvation Boulevard‘s putative area of focus is instead a…

The Wrestler DVD Review

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Title: The Wrestler Directed by: Darren Aronofsky (RoboCop, The Fighter) Starring: Mickey Rourke (Sin City 2, The Informers), Marisa Tomei (Marisa Tomei, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead) and Evan Rachel Wood. Scores: Technical: 90, Story: 95, Acting: 100, Overall: 98 The Wrestler was a movie I had heard a lot about but, I didn’t think I would ever really watch it. Sometimes the hype you hear about a movie, ruins it for you. The Dark Knight was like that. I had to watch it again to really understand the attraction to The Joker. I thought Heath Ledger was amazing and the movie as a whole was fascinating. But my…
