As if we really need another live-action/CGI conglomeration this year, in 3D nonetheless. We already got the witless Marmaduke and now it looks like we’re in for another cheesy and low quality talking animal romp with Yogi Bear. The film’s first poster is passable; it’s the trailer that reveals that hefty dose of animated garbage we’re in for. Any fan of the original cartoon can appreciate the image. It’s Yogi and Boo Boo amidst a pile of half-eaten food and empty picnic baskets; what’s not to like? The trailer is a different story. The A-Team Is No Match For The Karate Kid At The Box Office

Ouch. The Karate Kid gave The A-Team quite a beating at the box office. What was expected to be a close race turned out to be quite the blowout with Jaden Smith snatching up $56 million as compared to Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Rampage Jackson and Sharlto Copley’s disappointing $26 million. This is a massive miss for Fox especially considering Sony’s product cost about $70 million less to put together. Fox better keep its fingers crossed the folks overseas are more receptive to massive amounts of action and explosions to ensure they get back their $110 million. Owen Wilson Voicing Marmaduke

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Owen Wilson has signed on to voice the rascally Great Dane “Marmaduke” for Fox’s adaptation of the long-running newspaper comic strip. The film will follow a family named the Winslows who move from Kansas to Orange County, and their giant slobbering dog Marmaduke, who causes chaos wherever he goes. The strip was created in 1954 by Brad Anderson about a giant Great Dane dog and his misadventures causing trouble throughout the neighborhood. Judy Greer, Lee Pace and William H. Macy are cast in the film as humans, while Fergie, Emma Stone, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Steve Coogan, Damon Wayans, Marlon Wayans will be supplying…
