“The Dictator” is coming to theaters soon, and Sacha Baron Cohen has put on his latest persona, General Aladeen (clearly based on dictators like Gaddafi) for the film’s Super Bowl commercial. You can view the spot below the post. Also released is the site for the Republic of Wadiya, the country over which General Aladeen rules. You can visit the English version of the website here. Its zany, for sure. The film, according to IMDB, is “[t]he heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.” “The Dictator,” directed by Larry Charles, also stars Bobby Lee,…

Okay, so many of you likely don’t live in the northeast and this is the Movie News Cheat Sheet, so there’s little room for TV references here, but fall is right around the corner! Digital Spy via MTV News has a report on the type of girl Shia LeBeouf wanted for “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” According to the site, LeBeouf asked “Transformers” director Michael Bay if the replacement girl for Megan Fox could be a more of the library-type of girl. “I remember pitching to Mike, ‘Maybe we should go with a more bookish type,’” he said. “I remember him saying to me, ‘Shia, we’re not going with bookish anything. This is a summer movie–we need a summer girl.” I suppose a Velma-type of girl could bring down a fast-paced action film, but that’s not really a fair statement, since bookish guys get…

Back in the day, Bill Cosby’s “Leonard Part 6″ didn’t have much luck introducing itself to audiences as an original product with a higher integer in its title, and the teen-lilting sci-fi action adventure “I Am Number Four” perhaps elicited similar confusion when it bowed in theaters earlier this February. Unimpressive domestic returns ($55 million), however, might not have sullied the chances of survival for this adaptation of the first in a proposed six-book series cowritten by James Frey (yes, the lying author emasculated by Oprah Winfrey) and Jobie Hughes. If it returns, one will have both international markets (where it grossed $90 million) and the presence of Teresa Palmer,…
