Metallica just released the second single off their upcoming album, Death Magnetic today. Entitled “My Apocalypse,” the track is now available for download on iTunes. Metallica fans should check out check out iTunes where you can also purchase the riveting track “The Day That Never Comes” which premiered last week.
 
Additionally, the band have recently unveiled a new widget that the band will frequently updated with news, a trailer for their MissionMetallica.com fan site, and other Death Magnetic related material. The widget can be embedded onto most social networking sites and blog applications.
Death Magnetic will be available everywhere on September 12th.

The Kerrang! Awards were held recently in the UK and among those honored were Florida rockers, Black Tide. The band took home the award for Best International Newcomer, beating out All Time Low and Kill Hannah amongst other bands.
Black Tide joined the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold all who took home a coveted K statue. Also on hand were Black Tide influencers, Metallica who were honored, fittingly, with the Kerrang! inspiration award.
Black Tide’s album Light From Above, which features a cover of Metallica’s “Hit The Lights,” is in stores now!

According to Ozzfest.com, Ozzfest will return this year for a one-day only festival in Dallas, Texas Saturday, August 9. Ozzy Osbourne will be accompanied by Metallica, Serj Tankian, Jonathan Davis, Hellyeah’s Vinnie Paul (Pantera) and Chad Gray. Others include Sevendust, Drowning Pool, Shadows Fall, Devildriver, and many more.
“Ozzy just finished an 11-month world tour so I think he deserves a summer off,” says Sharon Osbourne.
