Michelle Monaghan and Michael Shannon have joined the cast of “Machine Gun Preacher” from Lionsgate alongside Gerard Butler. The film is being directed by Marc Forster (“Quantum of Solace”) and will start filming this summer. The project’s script was written by Jason Keller and is based on Childers’ memoir, “Another Man’s War: The True Story of One Man’s Battle to Save Children in the Sudan.” Butler will be playing the real-life hero Sam Childers, a former biker gang member who became a missionary after finding religion in 1992 and going to Africa. Vera Farmiga (“Up in the Air”) and Michelle Monaghan (“Eagle Eye”) are set to join Jake Gyllenhaal in Duncan Jones’ upcoming sci-fi time-travel thriller “Source Code” for Summit Entertainment. The film is about a soldier who becomes part of a secret government program investigating a terrorist incident. He finds his mind transferred into the body of a commuter who must relive the day of the attack over and over until he can find out who is responsible and how to prevent it from happening. Variety.com is reporting that according to Warner Bros, musician RZA is joining the cast to star alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis in “Due Date,” directed by Todd Phillips. Michelle Monaghan and Jamie Foxx are also onboard for the film, which is about a man with an oddball travel companion who is racing home to get there before his wife delivers the couple’s first child. Phillips is producing “Due Date” alongside Daniel Goldberg, his partner in Green Hat. Scott Budnick and Susan Downey are onboard as executive producers.
