A while ago, MTV recognized the massive fandoms behind comic blockbuster films “The Avengers” and “The Dark Knight Rises” could provide a huge showdown when MTV created their MTV Movie Brawl. It was a knock-out, drag-down fight, but in the end, “The Dark Knight Rises” beat “The Avengers” by a narrow percentage of the votes. MTV has provided an analysis of the results, citing the facts that the higher stakes, the lovable factor of Alfred’s (Michael Caine) voice-over versus Nick Fury’s (Samuel L. Jackson) voice-over in “The Avengers,” and the villain Bane (Tom Hardy) gave “The Dark Knight Rises” the edge on “The Avengers.” However, MTV also gives points to…

Jonny “The Unit” Manfre calls himself “an all-American douchebag,” but there’s a lot more to the new addition to “Jersey Shore” than that particular title. Manfre, who has been friends with Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino for about 10 years, graduated from Rutgers with two degrees. “I majored in philosophy and labor studies,” he said. “I took philosophy due to one of my professors. He told me to take it because it teaches you how to think logically and helps with anything you want to do.” He said he didn’t focus on being an adult after college and had to find himself. He eventually became big in mortgages, real estate, and…

Before the MTV Video Music Awards, “Maroon 5″ frontman Adam Levine released a tweet about the VMAs stating, “one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. f*** you, VMA’s.” When talking to E!, Levine expounded on why he hates the VMAs. “I remember when I was a kid I worshipped the VMAs,” said Levine. “I’d see these incredible moments where the whole world sat still to watch the VMAs and year ’round they’d play music–Nirvana, Pearl Jam, bands I loved…It was a celebratory day that represented what the channel stood for…It’s public knowledge that it’s not a music channel…
