Taylor Swift has already given her voice to the soundtrack of “The Hunger Games”; now, she’s going to be partnering with Viacom for what is being marketed as MTV’s “first global music video premiere,” according to Reuters. According to the article, the music video at the center of the premiere, Swift’s “Safe & Sound,” featuring the Civil Wars, will air Feb. 13. According to Van Toffler, the president of Viacom Music & Logo Group, the video is set to reach 600+ households worldwide. If there’s anything that’s just as anticipated as the film adaptation of “The Hunger Games,” it’s the soundtrack to the film adaptation of “The Hunger Games.” News about the soundtrack has been coming out in a slow trickle, but finally, the biggest news since the release of Taylor Swift and the Civil Wars’ single has been announced–the release of the cover art on the film’s official Facebook page. The cover art for the soundtrack, subtitled, “Songs for District 12 and Beyond,” is standard, to say the least. It’s basically a cropped version of the poster showing Katniss. Now, according to Collider and Entertainment Weekly, news is coming out about the other musical acts that will appear on the soundtrack.
