Idris Elba is being considered for a role in director Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 alien film ‘Pacific Rim,’ Slashfilm is reporting. Will Smith is now the main contender to portray the title character in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming spaghetti Western ‘Django Unchained,’ The Hollywood Reporter is claiming. The film follows the slave Django as he searches for his wife with a German bounty hunter in the Old South. Also up for main roles are Tarantino alum Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz. Excitement for Quentin Tarantino’s long awaited follow-up to his Oscar Nominated film, “Inglourious Basterds”, were rampant when the title page of his new screenplay emerged on Twitter. The title “Django Unchained” conjures images of Italian Westerns of the 1960s and 1970s and unshaved cowboys dragging a coffin into nameless, muddy desert towns. Quentin Tarantino is bringing his unusual flair for drama to the court room, as he is claiming his next door neighbor’s exotic birds are preventing him from penning scripts, www.tmz.com is reporting. The writer-director has filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, saying his neighbor, ‘True Blood’ creator Alan Ball, has so many birds that emit “blood-curdling screams” that he can’t concentrate on his work.
