Superman

Lois Lane isn't going to be in the Superman reboot!?

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Yesterday, I reported that several actresses were vying for the role of Lois Lane. Well, later that night, I came across news from Cinema Blend and Empire Online that there won’t be a Lois Lane in the Superman reboot! As to why there was so much talk about Lois Lane, I’m highly confused. While Empire gave a suggestion via the Playlist that the female character could be Catherine Jane Grant, a gossip columnist at the Daily Planet, according to Cinema Blend, the reboot won’t immediately chronicle the days of Clark Kent at the Daily Planet. Instead, the film will be about his life before the Daily Planet and Lois. Some of…

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

Former 1980s teen star C. Thomas Howell has been cast in the Spider-Man reboot, according to ScreenCrave and Entertainment Weekly. Howell has been cast as a character named “Ray”. While there hasn’t been any officially word as to what Ray will do or how he will fit into the overall story of the film, there is a character in the comic book named Ray Cooper, the late father of Peter Parker’s current girlfriend in the comics, Carlie. Howell originally made his mark on the big screen in films like The Outsiders, E.T., Red Dawn, and Gettysburg. He has also been on several TV shows including Moonlighting, The Outer LImits, and V.I.P.,…

Zack Snyder is confirming news about one of the most anticipated movies of the next decade, his ‘Superman’ reboot, Slashfilm.com is reporting. Although the director’s next movie is ‘Sucker Punch,’ which is expected to hit theaters in April, rumors are constantly swirling about his follow-up. The director confirmed to Empire that the superhero film won’t be featuring villain General Zod, as previously reported. However, Snyder didn’t confirm or deny if his version of ‘Superman,’ which is being directed by David Goyer and produced Christopher Nolan, will focus on Superman’s early years. This comes after weeks of speculation that the reboot would focus on Superman’s rise to his current superhero status….

Fox Planning To Reboot Fantastic Four Films

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Variety is reporting that 20th Century Fox has begun overhauling the “Fantastic Four” movie franchise for a “reboot” over the two films that were released in 2005 and 2007. Akiva Goldsman has been hired to produce the reboot, and Michael Green, (co-exec producer, “Heroes”) who co-wrote the script for the upcoming “Green Lantern”, will write the script. It is unclear if any of the cast from the previous films will be returning for the new film. “The Fantastic Four” first appeared in 1961 from Marvel Comics and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The title follows Reed Richards, his wife Sue, Sue’s brother Johnny, and Reed’s childhood friend…

Jonah Hex

Jonah Hex Movie To Be Directed By Jimmy Hayward

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

“Horton Hears A Who” director Jimmy Hayward has been announced to direct the big-screen adaptation of “Jonah Hex”, the DC title about the scarred bounty hunter cowboy, which Josh Brolin is attached to star in as the titular gray-clad character. The relatively small title has been rumored to hit the silver screen since 1970, though a lawsuit over the rights to the character has complicated such an adaptation from ever seeing the light until recently when talks of the project gaining momentum surfaced in 2008, as well as of Brolin’s involvement with the picture. Hayward began his career as an animator on the Canadian TV series “ReBoot” before moving to…
