Anonymous Movie Review

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

Title: Anonymous Director: Roland Emmerich Starring: Rhys Ifans, Vanessa Redgrave, David Thewlis, Sebastian Armesto, Rafe Spall, Edward Hogg, Xavier Samuel, Sam Reid, Jamie Campbell Bower, Joely Richardson “Anonymous” takes the often debated real-life conspiracy theory surrounding the authenticity of the literary treasures composed by William Shakespeare, and produces a 130 minute political drama in which the famed author acted as a catalyst that sparked controversy to the throne in England. And when we say author, we (specifically director Roland Emmerich & writer John Orloff) are not referring to the lauded man himself. Just as the promo poster reads, this flick asks the question if William Shakespeare was in fact a…

Rhys Ifans Won't Be Charged For Comic Con Alleged Assault

Saturday, August 13th, 2011

“The Amazing Spider Man” cast member Rhys Ifans won’t be charged for allegedly assaulting a guard at this year’s San Diego Comic Con due to a lack of evidence regarding the reported incident.  Coming by way of The Wrap, “after reviewing differing witness accounts, our prosecutors concluded there was not sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” Gina Coburn, a spokeswoman for the San Diego Office of the City Attorney, revealed to the news outlet. The battery charges stem from Ifans attendance at the 2011 event on July 22nd, where police said that he smelled of alcohol, and became angry after someone he was with failed to…

Of course, he never really left, as there are a slew of Spidey fans whether or not there’s a huge big screen production in the works, but this year the pressure is on because not only is a new movie on the way, but The Amazing Spider-Man will have to outdo or at least live up to the standards set by the former Spider-Man trilogy as well as decades of other material. New Spider-Man Images Looks Really Good

Friday, July 15th, 2011

CinemaBlend has some new “The Amazing Spider-Man” images from Entertainment Weekly, and I have to say that I’m impressed with how great the film looks just from the images. In the pictures, we see Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben and Aunt May, Andrew Garfield as a super-powered Peter Parker jumping over a basketball player and choking a bully later on, Denis Leary as Captain Stacy fighting crime, and Rhys Ifans battling some water. I used to be on the “Spider-Man” movie bandwagon until I was misled by “Spider-Man 3.” But seeing the images from the film has made me feel a lot better about potentially spending money…
