Good Morning Vietnam

Interview: Richard Portnow Says Good Morning, Vietnam Still Stands Up

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

For Richard Portnow, who played Dan “The Man” Levitan in “Good Morning, Vietnam”, watching the film is a bit like going back in time. “It’s interesting watching a film that was made 25 years ago, you look like a kid,” he said. “We were filming in Bangkok for three months. I watch certain scenes and remember when that happened, and there’s other stuff that I don’t remember–in one scene, there’s a little dance that I do, and I don’t remember doing that.” Portnow, like Juney Smith, knew that “Good Morning, Vietnam” would be a great film, but the longevity came as a surprise. “I thought it was going to be…

An important thing to note is that the film is a…

Happy Feet Two Movie Review

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Title: Happy Feet Two Director: George Miller Starring the Voices: Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Ava Acres, Pink, Sofia Vergara, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Common, Hugo Weaving, Hank Azaria Talk about a versatile director. George Miller, who years ago was at the helm for all the gritty and violent Mad Max films, dials up some of the most tender and heartfelt moments depicted on screen this year with “Happy Feet Two.” As of today, the front-runner for Best Animated Film for 2011 has arrived. And for someone (me) who historically pans the 3D gimmick, it’s actually put to good use in this 105 minute presentation. We pick up with the dancing…

Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum developing a Peter Pan origin film

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Channing Tatum, producer Joe Roth and writer Billy Ray are developing an origin film about Peter Pan. Right now, the story is being marketed as “Peter Pan Begins”. Not much is known about the story’s plot or whether Tatum is planning on acting in the film or simply producing. Common sense dictates that he would be producing or, at the most, producing and acting in an adult role. Peter Pan has always been a boy, so it’ll be odd to see Tatum in tights. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this pitch is part of the growing trend of classic literature being used for movie ideas;…

First off, the trailers that I have seen DO NOT do the film justice. Most trailers show the best parts of the…
