A big-screen version of HBO’s hit series “Rome” is moving forward, with Morning Light Productions getting a script from series creator Bruno Heller. Running from 2005 to 2007, the show was a bloody look at the history of the Roman Empire through the eyes of two characters, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, two Roman soldiers whose names are drawn from history and Caesar’s “Commentarii de Bello Gallico”. HBO is not involved in the film’s production, which is slated to take place 4 years after the end of the series’ story. “Rome” and “Journeyman” actor Kevin McKidd claims he’s still in the running to play Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the Marvel Comics character, according to a report by IGN. McKidd recently told IGN that he’s a contender for the lead role and that there has been “a lot of back and forth” between various people about the project, but could confirm nothing else, but that nothing has been determined.
