According to a report by Variety, Vigilante Entertainment has picked up Warren Ellis’ comic book series “Black Summer” to produce a live-action adaptation of the Avatar Press comic book. Ryne Pearson (“Knowing”) is attached to write the screenplay for the project. Vigilante Entertainment is headed by Hicham Benkirane, who was formerly the head of audiovisual development at Les Munaoids Associes, the French comics publisher.
