Movie News Cheat Sheet: Summer Is Still A Ways Away But The Season's Movie Promo Material Is Pouring In

Monday, December 12th, 2011

Apologies for the Movie News Cheat Sheet‘s tardiness, but it was for the sake of Steven Spielberg and Giancarlo Esposito! Totally worth it, right? I’d like to think so, but this Cheat Sheet is packed with some pretty exciting material. Well, the idea of Scott Disick playing Patrick Bateman might not be the most thrilling tidbit in there, but we do have a new director for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and a slew of posters from what should be some of the biggest movies of summer 2012. The trailer department is lacking courtesy of the one for What To Expect When You’re Expecting dropping just after the massive New Year’s…

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

2010 is over. No more. Done. Finito. Some are more than happy to kiss that year goodbye, while others wish it would have never ended. In the realm of movies, 2010 looked great in terms of box office receipts. However, even with the second highest grossing domestic box office of all-time ($10.5 billion) in the books, let’s just say the quality of the product put out, is far from what the numbers suggest in terms of stellar entertainment all year around. Yet 2010 did have a few exceptional moments. With all that said, here’s 20 topics, accompanied by my candid/stripped-down thoughts, on what caught my critical eyes in cinema for…

Title: Saw 3D Directed By: Kevin Greutert Starring: Sean Patrick Flanery, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Cary Elwes, Tobin Bell, Chad Donella After five films that never achieved the same effect as the original, expectations were at rock bottom for the seventh installment of the Saw franchise, Saw 3D. All director Kevin Greutert and his team had to do was manage to at least keep it on par with the rest. Sadly, not only did Greutert fail miserably, but he had to take all of the other six films down with him. WARNING: SPOILER ALERT This installment’s centerpiece is a Jigsaw survivor named Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick Flanery). Ever since his…

Interview: Saw 3D's Betsy Russell

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Jill Tuck may have started out as a mere memory in Saw III, but ever since, her prominence in the series has increased exponentially. Four years later, Jill has turned into a serious force to be reckoned with and, in Saw 3D, will supposedly have an even greater impact on the story, which might have a little something to do with a grudge between her and Mark Hoffman…
