11:41 – Dave thanks everyone, cheers erupt – “ParaNorman” is out next month! 11:40 – Dave wraps with a question from the Twitter page. Sam says Norman was the most challenging character to create. Chris adds, “Writing him was easier,” because a lot was based on him. He gets an “aw” from the audience when he says he was a sad child. Chris also points out he loved channeling his inner 15 year old cheerleader and writing Courtney’s dialogue. 11:37 – Chris says he liked the limitations of stop motion because you have to really know what you’re trying to achieve with it. One of the first reasons he started  [ Read More ]

For those of you who haven’t kept up with “Nikita,” heed this major SPOILER ALERT. While at San Diego Comic Con promoting the show, Aaron Stanford sat down and dished on the status of his character, Seymour Birkhoff. At the close of season two, not only does Nikita (Maggie Q) finally put an end to Percy’s (Xander Berkeley) reign, but she also agrees to help Ryan (Noah Bean) when he assumes control of Division. Now part of one big happy family, where Nikita goes, Birkhoff follows, so he heads back down into Division and plants a big wet one on Sonya (Lyndie Greenwood). How does Birkhoff feel about returning to  [ Read More ]

Lindsay Fonseca says Katie Deauxma is only in the beginning of Kick-Ass 2.

Things seem to finally be working out for that “Kick-Ass” sequel, as at the end of May, word got out that Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse were all in negotiations to return. No word on the state of production since then, but according Lyndsy Fonseca who played Katie Deauxma in the original, the filmmakers want her to shoot “Kick-Ass 2” this year. While talking “Nikita” and San Diego Comic Con, Fonseca drove my TV vs. film question straight into “Kick-Ass 2” territory. Fonseca is absolutely thrilled with the opportunity to make another “Kick-Ass,” but crossed her fingers and said, “I just pray that it all works out!” Fortunately  [ Read More ]

3:45 – That’s all for “Frankenweenie.” The Shockya.com live blogging marathon continues tomorrow with a full day in Hall H! 3:43 – Do new things inspire you as well? “You get inspired early in your life,” Tim explains. “Those early inspirations, I don’t think they ever really leave you.” He says that your first inspirations are typically your strongest, but “you try and get inspired every day.” 3:42 – What are your thoughts on doing the movie in 3D? Tim responds, “The idea of seeing black and white in 3D was something I was really interested in.” He explains that this was an opportunity to try and keep it crisp  [ Read More ]

SDCC 2012: Batmobiles Through The Years

Just before heading into The Hilton Bayfront for the “Twilight” press conference, I spent a few minutes with six truly wicked rides. You’d think seeing the Tumbler and Bruce Wayne’s other whips merely parked on the grass rather than zipping around Gotham City would be a bit of a drag, but these things are just as incredible stagnant, in the flesh. Check out some photos as well as official descriptions of the collection below. Adam West’s 1955 Lincoln Futura. Designed by George Barris, this original Batmobile was featured in the cult classic television series and 1966?s Batman, the Movie. Michael Keaton’s Batmobile from 1989?s Batman and 1992?s Batman Returns. Sleek  [ Read More ]

12:25 – And that’s a wrap on the last “Twilight” press conference of San Diego Comic Con ever … or is it? 12:23 – Last question – is there a particular memory you’ll always have with you? Mackenzie chimes in with “the entire thing.” Stephenie goes with finishing the wedding shoot and sitting with everyone in the Cullen’s garage and just enjoying being together. Kristen says, “It’s hard to pick the one moment,” but says shooting the wedding was a special time. Taylor remembers telling himself to start soaking everything up as the end approached. Rob was thinking more along the lines of pranks, like “when Peter stole the bike.”  [ Read More ]

After catching The Art of “Frankenweenie,” I took advantage of the whole purpose of Preview Night, to get a lay of the land and figure out what to plan for over the next few days. “The Walking Dead” will undeniably be a hotspot, rocking a statue of Michonne and one of her pets, letting you step in a pose as the other pet. The Summit/Lionsgate booth was already bustling, fans of “The Twilight Saga,” “The Hunger Games” and more lining up for free swag. The Sony section was particularly impressive, offering up looks at a vehicle from “Total Recall,” a costume from “After Earth,” and ship from “Elysium” amongst other  [ Read More ]

The first film out of the gates at San Diego Comic Con 2012 is Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie.” The film is a remake of Burton’s 1984 short film and tells the story of a young boy named Victor who manages to bring his deceased dog, Sparky, back to life. Burton himself will take the stage on behalf of “Frankenweenie” during the Walt Disney Studios panel tomorrow, but tonight producers Allison Abbate and Don Hahn were on the convention center floor in support of The Art of “Frankenweenie” exhibit. “When you make a stop motion movie, you create everything from scratch so you can’t go out and buy textbooks or desks for  [ Read More ]

“Resident Evil: Retribution” is all about the franchise going global and the film’s ad campaign is certainly putting that in the forefront. A circular banner of Alice (Milla Jovovich) blowing away someone or something hangs from a wall in the convention center showing off the tagline, “Evil Goes Global.” The series already treated fans to some ruthless action sequences in the film’s trailers, but folks in Hall H at 4:05pm on Friday will undoubtedly get a little something special from Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Oded Fehr, Boris Kodjoe, Mika Nakashima and writer-director Paul W. S. Anderson, and Shockya.com will be on hand as it all unfolds! By Perri Nemiroff

The post San Diego Comic Con blues will undoubtedly affect us all, but what better way to lift our spirits than to all head home to the season five premiere of “Breaking Bad?” Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, R. J. Mitte, Jonathan Banks and showrunner Vince Gilligan will all be in Ballroom 20 for the show’s panel including a Q&A session and a sneak preview of the new season. After a stellar second season left fans desperate for more, the recent “The Walking Dead” marathon leading up to the premiere of the black and white pilot upped anticipation even more. Shockya.com will be in Hall H on Friday to see what Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Norman Reedus, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan and more have to say about the upcoming season. While the season three sneak peek of Michonne (Danai Gurira) annihilating a trio of walkers was brutal to say the least, hopes are high for some exclusive footage that’ll wow fans even more. While we wait, check out this banner hanging in the rafters of the  [ Read More ]

“Total Recall” is back! Over 20 years after the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starrer hit theaters, the Colin Farrell led version is at San Diego Comic Con to ring in its August 3rd release. Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston and director Len Wiseman are all due in Hall H for the “Total Recall” section of the Sony panel on Friday, but until we can bring you the goods from that event, check out these photos of some Rekall posters and the “Total Recall” banner on The Hard Rock Hotel. What happens years after all advanced technology on the planet is rendered entirely useless? It looks something like this. In honor of the new show “Revolution,” NBC set up this scene showing off a dilapidated Ferris wheel and car claimed by overgrowth, and took over the exterior of The Hilton Bayfront. “Revolution” doesn’t debut until Monday, September 17 at 10pm, but folks at Comic Con will get the chance to see the pilot during the Special Sneak Peek Pilot Screenings tonight at 6pm.
